Invisible and Clear Braces – ClearCorrect
Invisible braces, also known as clear aligners, are a fairly new orthodontic technology to help improve your smile and self-esteem. Similar to Invigalign, people are able to use ClearCorrect instead of the traditional metal/porcelain brackets which are held together with an unsightly metal wire. 3D Printing technology allows us to create clear plastic retainers which replicate force in order to correct maligned or rotated teeth. These clear plastic retainers are a lot less unsightly and can be taken out if necessary.
ClearCorrect and Invisible Braces at Walloon Dental
Two main companies create these clear aligners and we’re pleased to be able to offer ClearCorrect at Walloon Dental. You may have heard of Invisalign – ClearCorrect follows the same principles and processes! Generally, they will be worn 22 hours a day for 2 weeks (remove them for eating, brushing, or special occasions – you can’t do that with traditional braces!) until making another appointment with our friendly team to update to the next aligner.
When clean, these clear aligners are as close to invisible as possible. They’re completely see-through and extremely thin. They won’t show up in photos and can be removed at any time! (Although we advise that you keep them on as much as possible).
It’s important to note that new aligners can cause lisps and minor ulcers for the first few days of usage, and they can’t correct some specific orthodontic issues such as an incorrect bite. They’re also a lot easier to lose, so keep that in mind when you’re taking them out!
What’s the process like?
Firstly, we offer a free consultation which can be during your normal check-up, a routine appointment, or by itself.
There’s no cost for the initial discussion where we’ll give you some rough costs, the amount of time you’ll need to wear your aligners, and answer any questions you have.
After this, if you’re happy, we’ll take moulds of your top and bottom teeth, photos of your teeth, and x-rays which will be sent to ClearCorrect to form a customised prescription and treatment plan. We can get started as soon as two weeks after the record taking consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it Painful?
The vast majority of patients will complete a full course of invisible braces with little to no discomfort. Sometimes for the first couple of days of each new retainer there can be a small amount of pressure and changes to speech, but this quickly goes away. Some customers use Panadol to manage the symptoms.
Is ClearCorrect covered under Private Health Insurance?
In many cases clear aligners will be covered under your private health – we will work in tandem with your fund so you know exactly much much they’ll cost and what your out of pocket expenses will be.
What is the schedule like?
We see most patients every 4-6 weeks. One of the main bonuses of clear aligners is that appointment timing is quite flexible and we can structure around holidays etc.
The initial consultation is free, and we are happy to set up a payment schedule for our clients.
An initial deposit is paid when records are taken and sent away and after that, we can organise monthly payments which you can make via direct debit or EFTPOS.
As a general rule, your total cost for these aligners will be between $4,500 and $7,000. We will try and give you an accurate idea of the cost during your free consultation so you’re able to make a well informed decision.
